A2Zero
Carbon Neutrality Survey #3 |
A2Zero is Ann
Arbor’s campaign to create and implement a just transition to zero local
carbon pollution, community-wide, by the year 2030.
Through public engagement, work with technical advisors, and input
from peer cities, we have identified five overarching strategies that are
necessary if we are going to reduce local carbon pollution to zero by 2030.
These five strategies include:
1.
Reducing the miles we travel in our
vehicles by at least 40%;
2.
Switching our appliances and vehicles from gasoline, diesel,
propane, and natural gas to electric;
3.
Powering our electrical grid with 100% clean and renewable energy;
4.
Significantly improving the energy efficiency of our homes,
businesses, schools, places of worship, government buildings, and recreational
sites; and
5.
Significantly changing the way we use,
reuse, and dispose of materials
This survey focuses on how
we can support members of our community with implementing these strategies. Please
take 5-7 minutes to share your thoughts and ideas with us. Thank you. And remember to check out our www.a2zero.org for more
information and for details on how to get involved.
1.
To
reduce global warming /climate pollution to zero locally, we have to reduce the
miles we travel in our cars by at least 40%. To do that, we will need to significantly
scale-up our use of public transit, walk and bike a lot more than we do now,
link trips, and carpool whenever possible. What do you need to reduce the
vehicles miles you travel? (select up to
