NJ 50 by 30 Building Electrification Committee:
On Aug 21, we held an exciting "home makeover" theme for monthly Building Electrification webinars, a NJ-based “Ask Sean Show" with 2 case studies: one in the moderate temps of NJ southern Cape May County (heating design temp is 11 degrees F) in Climate Zone 4, and one in north Jersey Hunterdon County (heating design temp is 6 degrees F) in the more frigid Climate Zone 5.
115 registered, 70 attended.
On Sept 25 at 7 pm, NJ 50x30 BE will present a 3nd episode of “Ask Sean Show.” Register NOW https://bit.ly/3tmyd1g for this 3rd and final for this series in order to receive the Zoom link. Don't miss this fun and informative program. Two NJ case studies will provide practical examples. Come with your questions about how to upgrade your house. Enter questions in chat, and Sean and his staff will answer in chat or in person.
On Aug 24, the NJ utilities held a NJ stakeholders public meeting to get NJ resident, business and Labor input on NJ building decarbonization programs 2024 thru 2027 plans. We provided our oral input that incentives or subsidies from the utility programs should go only to efficiency and electrification, not to gas appliance upgrades or new gas service. We are also signing (on behalf of NJ 50x30 Building Electrification) the EmpowerNJ 9/7/2023 anti-fossil fuel petition, and submitting our personal/NJ50x30 BE written comments on 9/6/2027.
On Sept 17, as CRP is joining the March To End Fossil Fuels in NYC, we NJ shore residents will join other orgs (Food & Water Watch, Sierra Club, UUSJ, Monmouth Univ., etc) on the Jersey Shore Line train (10:00 AM Long Branch;10:15 AM Red Bank).
The Federal government has finally issued IRA rebate guidelines. We are preparing an updated IRA presentation as NJ programs are rolled out, and planning to offer presentations.
