Why I love our Electric Induction Range

Research showing that gas stoves contribute to childhood asthma has prompted the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to consider regulating gas stoves. This has caused quite a kerfuffle.

Fortunately, I love our electric induction range. Induction cooking is more efficient than other cooking methods because it heats the pot or pan directly, rather than heating the surrounding air. This means that less energy is wasted, and the cooking process is faster. Additionally, induction cooking is safer because the cooktop remains cool to the touch, reducing the risk of burns. It's easy to clean and it provides very fast and precise temperature control.

For the induction system to work, the cookware needs to be magnetic. Test your existing pots and pans with a magnet. If the magnet sticks, you are good to go. If not, you have an excellent reason to buy that new cookware you have long wanted.  Furthermore, the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act will provide an upfront discount of up to $840 for the purchase of the induction range if it replaces a gas stove.

Because the range does not use gas, open flames, or generate exhaust, it is healthier, better for the environment, and safer.

If you enjoy cooking with gas, it is likely you will love cooking on an electric induction range while doing your part to help the environment.
