Thank you for taking the time to talk to “Middletown for Clean Energy” on Feb 13.

I want to clarify our conversation about applying for grants for EV charging stations.

EV grant application (Volkswagen Settlement Money) was first recommended by the Green Team in 2017.

The state subsequently revised the grant specifications to focus more strongly on EVs

When we learned of this, we sent 2 letters to Middletown  (attached):

• Oct 12, 2018 letter to Mayor Settembrino, Ted Maloney, and Tony Mercantante “Strategy to compete for Volkswagen Settlement grants for Middletown Jitneys and Trucks”
• Dec 24, 2018 letter to Middletown Committee “Apply for VW Settlement grants for EV Charging Stations”
