At 7PM the Middletown Committee will pass resolutions totaling $313K to replace 9 of its existing fleet with 9 full-size gas-guzzling  SUVs and Ford Explorer Police Interceptors.
Each carries a large lifetime burden of GreenHouseGas emissions and maintenance.
POLICE DEPARTMENT PURCHASE:

• Three 2022 Ford Explorer Police Interceptors @$32K each  (hybrid versions are available, but not purchased) Resolution #21-260
• Four Chevrolet Tahoe for Police Dept @ $39,289 each  (no hybrid version available) Resolution #21-261

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS PURCHASE:

• Two Ford Bronco Sport SUVs for the Dept of Public Works @$30K each  (4 wheel drive is standard; no hybrid version available) Resolution #21-257
