Middletown has a growing group of residents interested in Middletown pursuing 100% clean energy. Clean Energy objectives apply to Middletown government facilities/services, as well as the businesses/residences residing within Middletown. The goal: 100% electricity by 2035; 100% all energy sectors by 2050
We propose 2 questions, to be answered by each candidate, prior to the Middletown Committee election, November, 2018. These answers would be widely publicized within Middletown.
QUESTION 1: What are the steps you will take to ensure Middletown quickly achieves 100% clean energy?
Question 1 is the "mitigation" portion of a city's response.
A second question deals with ADAPTATION, PROTECTION AND RESILIENCE AGAINST STORMS AND RISING SEA LEVEL EXPECTED THIS CENTURY
“NJFRAMES” Is a state/regional NJDEP effort, which started in 2017 to work with each of the ~15 cities in the “Two Rivers” region.
First NJFRAMES worked to identify what to preserve/protect in each town, and issued a summer, 2018 status report.
Within the next years, NJFRAMES will help develop regional plans for protection and recovery from flooding.
QUESTION 2: What are your steps to ensure Middletown achieves optimum adaptation and resilience for itself and the region?
