- Sept 18 briefed Middletown Mayor Perry, Tony Mercantante (Administrator), and Amy Sarrinikolaou (Sustainability Manager) on a proposed Middletown Renewable Government Energy Aggregation - which would save residents money, and significantly reduce Middletown's Green House Gas emissions.
- Sept 18 Middletown's Sustainability Manager asked Mayor Perry for approval to apply for a BPU energy grant for Middletown to develop an energy plan

- During April and May, 2017, Pat and Steve Miller have given a number of climate change talks and asked participants to take next steps to influence local communities:
- May 20, 2017- bringing a group of Middletown residents to a meeting with the Middletown mayor to encourage his support for the Middletown Green Team's recommendations
- May 17 - presentation to the Middletown Green Team (includes the chair of Monmouth County Planning Board Environmental Council). Requesting 3 specific "Actions" within Middletown's existing "Sustainable Jersey" program. To initiate the work, Pat and Steve are volunteering themselves, and a few other Middletown residents.
- May 7, after church service, held the 3rd (& last) session of viewing & then discussion of "Food, Inc".
- May 5- met with heads of several environmental groups to discuss climate change's impact on the area.
- May 2 -delivered 14 notes and letters to Middletown Mayor Scharfenberger, requesting Middletown's plans to address climate change and plans to reduce emissions of GreenHouse Gases.
- April 21 and April 28 -convened Middletown neighbors and friends to present and discuss climate change, and asked for personal notes and letters to the Middletown mayor.
- April 18 - presented to the Monmouth Community Climate Coalition, meeting at Good Shepherd. (MCCC is composed of representatives from many area churches, and representatives from all area environmental organizations).
- April 18- Middletown open house - discussion with several Middletown officials.
